AYANNA ALLEN
As a Toronto born and based photographer and model, I’ve only ever existed in creative spaces.
With a formally trained background in visual art, film, dance and music, I was raised to do it all, and this ability to self produce permeates and dictates my work to this day. Often acting as the model, director, stylist, editor, and sole photographer - I end up functioning as team unto myself.
Self taught, I use photography as a way to find beauty in details and moments often overlooked or forgotten. Rooting my style in that of abstract art and modernism, the only constant that remains is eye catching images, across any subject.
Having recently finished a yearlong mentorship program with Canon Canada as a FUTURES creator, shooting various celebrity musicians for Universal Music Canada, and most recently being internationally recognized for my latest series LIPS - with more than a decade of shooting behind me, I’m honoured to say I closed out 2023 with my first solo exhibition. The first of many to come.
